I bought a perfect BCBG dress for my 25th birthday, that sparked more than a trip to a few nice restaurants. I wore the dress to a wedding and reconnected my friends I had not seen since high school. Realizing that I was on the right professional track and had made something of my life, I came back and got to work, using my time to be productive, and even a bit creative.
Meanwhile I found some things to do around Atlanta to occupy my down time. After going to a festival here and restaurant week there, we stopped in a pet store and found the perfect addition to our family, Oscar, who will be coming home to us this weekend. We're also members of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, making trips to visit family and Gainesville in the coming months, and looking forward to the start of Atlanta Ballet season.
The BF also got a new job offer that is perfect, and he will be able to spend a lot less time traveling, and more time here, enjoying Sherlock's Wine club with me and our friends.
I don't want to be trite and use the old adage, "Life is what happens while you're waiting for it to start." I also don't want to fool myself into thinking that this transition is over, or even close to it. It's been a crazy year, and today is only the beginning of Fall.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves; but for today, life is good.
