Friday Favorites - Is it Summer Yet?

1) Summer
Thought Catalog: How to Have the Best Summer Ever

Yes, its still awhile away, but yesterday was so nice and sunny out. And today, it's just more rain. All I need is one solid week of bright, warm weather; an excuse to wear flip flops or lay out by pool. I'd even settle for a warm spring day, walking in the park without a jacket.

2) Essie Spring Colors
"Watermelon" for this week's nails. "Navigate Her" for next week.
3) Spring Festivals
The first Atlanta festival I attended was the Inman Park Festival. The BF and I had just started dating and it was the first time I'd flown down from DC to visit. This was a paramount weekend, kind of a big deal…. Not sure if it was the festival that sealed the deal, but it's been a great three years since then. However, despite the many area festivals we've gone to, I have yet to have a deep fried twinkie. This year might be the year.

4) Halo Halo
(Hollow Hollow) is a traditional Filipino dessert. It's shaved ice, ice cream, sweet condensed milk, and anything else you'd like to put on top: candied fruit, sweet mung beans, red bean paste, etc. No, there is no chocolate, or pastry, but it's still on of the tastiest, most beautiful desserts. The closest you'd get to it here in Atlanta is Suno Shaved Ice. Otherwise, you need to find a Filipino/Asian market, or find a filipino festival near you.

5) Zooma Atlanta Half Marathon
This is my latest Impossible League Goal. Zooma Atlanta is Aprll 22, so that's six weeks to train. For the first time, it's not that daunting. See you there?
