Halfway through the best month ever, and now is when things start to shift gears. We're in full alumni/gym/Fall mode, and no longer in sleepy summer (mentally, at least). Just like all those kids on the school bus, holding up morning traffic, it's time to get schooled.
1) Making lists
I've woken up in the middle of the night, jotting down notes; a list of things to add to my list of things…. I also get to order my 2013 calendars, according to the little note in my planner. Lists of things to do, things to buy, things for the house, things to do before vacation, it all piles up; but it feels so great to cross things off.
2) Summer Rice Krispies
I hated Rice Krispies as a little kid, unless they were in marshmallowy-square form. However, I had some leftover krispies with milk and a cut-up nectarine. It was a little bowl of heaven.
3) Thought Catalog
The Thought Catalog puts out several short articles daily that are always great and hilarious. Since my birthday is approaching, I've been reading a lot of their articles about being in your 20's. Makes me feel much better about things, and about being a 90's kid in general.
4) Rappahannock River Run
Less than 2 months away! The SMS Alumni Council is aiming for 100 runners for the Rappahannock River Run, October 13 in Tappahannock, VA. Check out the event site and sign up!

5) Silver Julep Cups
Maybe it's the Southern thing, but I've been dreaming of these all week. I think I could use a set…
Happy Mid-August everyone! Two more weeks and we can start talking changing leaves, Music Midtown, Labor Day Beaching, and riding boots. Until then, have fun squeezing out that last bit of SPF.
