Digging

I've been juggling blog post ideas for the last couple weeks. I don't like writing about the random day-to-day; I'd rather blog with a purpose. This added pressure is a bit daunting, even if I only have a handful of people who actually read this.

The latest exercise in The Unlost e-Course is to take a "knowcation", a break from needing to know the answers all the time. I've become very comfortable with the blank page that is my immediate future. There are always going to be new questions and not enough answers, like whack-a-mole.

What I have decided though, from my 10-minute knowcation break, is that if I want to make a big move, from here to there (metaphorically), I have to be the type of person someone would want to hire.

At a time when people are anticipating the big slow down of the holidays, I kinda want to work a little harder. Am I doing all I can with my commitments? Is there something more I could be learning/trying/applying? Am I doing all I can in the present to ensure that I'll have the future I want.

Crew is a sport where you can't rest on your laurels. There is always another day to get faster, and another boat looking to beat you. Improvement from day to day, week to week, month to month is paramount. When I'm busy and productive, that is when I feel I make the most progress, when I feel that I'm living to my full potential.

I like the idea of getting ahead while everyone else is sleeping. Maybe that is the message of this post. Keep digging. Keep going.
