July 1st is 183/183, according to my desk calendar.
I achieved one of my ten goals for the year last week, and am well on the way to knocking out two more before the end of the summer. I have 1,375 more Nike Training Club minutes to do, and I've signed up for a four-miler race three weeks from now. Right on track, halfway through the year with half of my goals accomplished.
In the same vein, my BF and I started talking about goals for next year. Planning trips, having the "are we going to move" conversation, making dates, saving money, talking about getting engaged…snowball effect.
While making my goals and resolutions, I had to decide what were the things I could quantitatively, realistically accomplish but still had to reach for. I can honestly say I've pushed myself to work harder and more efficiently, but also to take more initiative. Make those extra moves to open up something bigger.
Now, I wonder how much bigger I can go, how much farther I can push. Should doing more equal expecting more? I justify my "extracurricular" activities by saying that since I have the time, why not just do it. Looking ahead, how much time do I really have?
So here are the last five goals of the year:
1) I can run an hour on the treadmill without feeling like I'm dying. I'm at about 45 minutes without feeling like I want to kill someone.
2) To develop and maintain a functional Florida Crew Alumni Council. Almost there! Working on the Alumni Council Constitution points.
3) I have created a working media plan for the River Run. I've created the media plan, now let's put it into action and see if it works.
4) I've created a creative and efficient work and living space. Still have yet to change the office space, but I have a feeling that might wait until we look for a new house to rent.
5) I am at 17% BMI. No clue on this one…
I have six months (and one week) to cross them off the list. Then, it'll be time to start another list. Like I said in previous posts, I love resolutions because they keep us looking up and looking forward to getting better and being happier.
