Looking Forward Five

I have three days until getting on a roller coaster. Three days of work before making port of calls in North Carolina, Tennessee, California, DC, Gainesville, Virginia, Ohio, and Indiana. In the midst of all the moving and shaking, it will soon turn into Autumn.

So here are the five things that I will be looking forward to, probably while I'm trying to sleep on a plane…

1) Fall Boots
I've been searching for the perfect pair of fall boots for the last three years. Usually I'm too stingy, or picky; these decisions are not to be made lightly after all. But this year, I will be making my purchase and try to stave off the buyer's remorse. Also in this category are: toggle wool coats, scarves, and wearing sweaters again.

2) Apple Cider
Yes, apple cider is a fall staple, but I believe there is a perfect time for to enjoy it. Preferably outside in the late afternoon, walking with a chilled breeze. And no, it can't be just apple juice warmed up.

3) Working with the Windows Open
My office is the sunroom of our apartment, so it is completely windows and a sliding glass door. When the humidity of summer evaporates, all of the windows open up, and it makes the apartment so much better than a dark cave. And, you also get that smell, that fresh autumn crispy smell...

4) Homecoming
Okay, so my trip to Gainesville will not be for the official Homecoming weekend. But, I can't wait to see the UF campus again. Football, Downtown bars, Lake Newnan, getting in the coxswain seat again, even if's for a quick Alumni row; getting out my Orange and Blue right now.

5) Fall Running
Running outside is so nice in October. I look forward to not choking on the Atlanta heat and humidity every time I go outside.
