1) New Blog
It is no surprise that our hunt for a home rental has turned into a home purchase. To chronicle this search, and to get me out of my own head, I started a new blog: The Kit House.
For this blog, I've so far posted about the meeting with our realtor, our changing must-haves for our first house, and what plans we have for turning our house into a home. My goal of having our home photographed is a little far-fetched, but fingers crossed.
2) Five Things To Do This Weekend
A couple weekend's ago, Warby Parker and The Glitter Guide posted "Five Things to Do This Weekend". While this is a weekly post, I started taking their advice.
Last weekend, we used our High Museum membership to see the now-gone Modern art exhibit. It focused on 5 innovative years of history that had a direct effect on Modern Art. Afterwards, we stopped at CamiCakes to pick up two cupcakes for dessert that night. Since we've started the house hunt, we've frozen our budget, so to speak. We have a limited allowance for weekend activities, but these weekend ideas are fun and inexpensive.
3) Our 10-year Reunion
This year marks 10 years since my high school graduation. My Class Agent and I have been focusing on locating all 33 of our classmates and getting them back on campus. This is a challenge. Don't get me wrong, 33 people are a lot easier to corral than 500+. But, we have faith that our class will step up to the challenge.
4) The Antique Show
Scott Antique Market comes to Atlanta once a month, and it's billed as America's Favorite Treasure Hunt. Since my Bestie and I are both looking to make over our homes over the next year, this seemed like the perfect place to stop. I love seeing what can be refurbished, and what small items can add big character to a room.
5) iTunes Podcasts
I feel like I am just now discovering podcasts. I may be a little late to the show, but I've already subscribed to a few that I am super excited about. Here's what I'm listening to today:
NPR: Fresh Air
NPR: All Songs Considered
NPR: How To Do Everything
New Yorker Fiction
TEDTalks
Stuff You Missed In History Class
Jay and Silent Bob Get Old
Sex with Emily
And that's keeping it cultured for this week...
