Friday Favorites, Maybe?

A confession for today? I just downloaded Carly Rae Jepsen.
A blog post for today? Sure, why not...

1) Dorothy Parker
I bought her collected works last weekend, and had an idea about writing a book. It's fiction, so don't fret that I don't have a ton of experience to be writing something actual. Dorothy was a bad ass, writing bluntly and satirically about society, when all the preeminent writers were male. Her multiple marriages and divorces made her quite the tart, and her writing even got her blacklisted from Hollywood, even though she earned an Oscar nomination for her writing on A Star is Born.
I like to think that reading her short stories and poems might foster a little more badass-ness every day.

Whether it's a picnic in the park, scandalous tweets from the 50 Shades of Grey twitter feeds, or a perfect pop song playlist on iTunes, things can get a little sweeter. It also helps when you've just made a quick, painful t(rip) to Brazil...

5) Dogma
I've felt a void in the last couple weeks. Why? I haven't seen the movie Dogma is years. Yes, I can get my Kevin Smith fix in other ways, in other films, but this is my favorite, above and beyond. Alan Rickman is the Metatron...
