Travel Tuesday - London

My favorite fascinator from Fortnum &Mason's
I haven't done a Travel Tuesday post in a long time, mostly because I haven't been sent anywhere new for work. But next week is the trip I've been looking forward to for months, the semi-annual girls long weekend.

Last year's trip to Jamaica was a wonderful, relaxing four days with lots of sun and dirty banana cocktails. This year, we will be  in London for four days, and staying with some friends of mine.

Neither Merritt nor I have been to the UK, so we will be the ultimate tourists, without fanny packs.

Although many items are on our list, here is what we've managed to stick into our itinerary:

Thursday: Sleep
We'll be arriving early Thursday morning, and we've blocked out a big chunk of time just to get over jet-lag. Perhaps we'll take a walk Thursday afternoon, and have a fabulous casual dinner with our hosts.
The Amazing Atrium at the British Museum
The Millennium Bridge from St. Paul's to Tate Modern

Friday: Trafalgar Square (Charing Cross Station)
National Gallery
National Portrait Gallery
The Mall
Ten Downing St
Buckingham Palace
Westminster Abbey
Parliament (Big Ben)
Afternoon Tea at Fortnum&Mason

Saturday: South Bank (Waterloo)
Classic London Tower Bridge shot
National Theatre
The Globe
London Eye
Tate Modern
The best riverside walk in London
Then cross over the river on the footbridge to St. Pauls Cathedral.

Sunday: Brunch at Modern Pantry
Columbia Road flower market
St. Paddy's Day!

Some things may be left for a second visit, or we might be crazy and add:
The Victoria & Albert Museum
Hyde and Kensington Park
Notting Hill
The London Zoo
London's awesome Indian food
Catching a musical
Go to the Twinings Factory Store
