Friday Favorites

After a wonderful morning of stress at my own hand, I can finally sit down and write up this post. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I've booked a flight for PM instead of AM, and now I have the distinct pleasure of *possibly* flying standby at 5:30AM, and with no Chik-Fil-A…

But let's look on the bright side for today's Friday Favorites…

1) The Impossible League
This week, I joined the Impossible League; Joel Runyon's online community of Impossible seekers and writers. We all have our Impossible list of things to do, things that are not only challenging physically, professionally, emotionally, but also what society has deemed "Impossible". I love a challenge, and that is what I'm getting out of this membership. A constant push to keep looking up, and keep chasing down the Impossible.

2) Pura Vida
A Top 50 restaurant in Atlanta, Pura Vida is a great place for tapas. I don't speak from experience yet, but I'm very much looking forward to it tonight. Our favorite place for Tapas is The Iberian Pig, which is very Spanish. Pura Vida, I'm hoping, is a bit more Latin.

3) New Books
From Tuesday's Valentine Barnes & Noble date, I came out with seven new titles. Sadly, I have put my current read, Cleopatra: A Life, on hold. However, I'm already through the second Hunger Games book, and planning on finishing the series next week while I'm traveling. Here is my overall haul:

Girl Reading  (Seven Short Stories)
The American Heiress (very Downton Abbey)

4) Bonnaroo
Yes, I'm thinking about getting tickets. Yes, I'm 26 years old. This year's lineup is insanely good. Good enough to justify camping out for three days. Thank God they have a payment plan. My cousins have gone every year for the past four years, so I trust they know what they're doing before I sink in ALL of my Skymiles to fly up there.

5) Crew Alumni
It is technically double-dipping since I wrote about forming a Florida Crew Alumni Council yesterday. This weekend, we'll be brainstorming infrastructure: what kind of organization we will have and what can we do to make it last. In high school, leaving a legacy was a big deal. Very dramatic, I know, but I would like to leave a legacy of outreach and dedication.
Crew never really leaves you. Whether you rowed for a season or for years, whether or not you hated urging or ripped callouses, crew is always there, in your blood and always in the back of your mind.
